I did go out today, mainly 'cos the water looked so pretty and after a few beers last evening, I knew the paddle would do me good.  After half an hour looking at flat water, I gave up, sent home and nursed by throbbing head.  What do you do on flat days  Huh

Beardy, looking at your avatar pic, you might just want to change your name to 'hairy'

Today, I sat and had a coffee looking at the flat water that had promised a nice 1.2 metre wave.  God I hate it when they get it wrong  Cry

flat days can be fun if you just need to get away from it all. i actually like going for a long paddle in flat water sometimes. it is a great workout, and i can focus on my paddle technique and other things, like quick turnarounds (for when there are actually waves and you need to turn on a dime or get smashed). i would much rather be on the water than sitting behind my computer or watching tv. and usually the wife wants to go too, so we get our "quality time" in as well. if there is wind but no waves, then i do a downwinder with friends. another great way to use the SUP. that's what is so great about this sport... so many damn options.
